From the President...

Dear STAC Members:

As we begin a new fiscal year, it’s only natural to stop and look back at what has been accomplished over the past 12 months.  By any standard, STAC had a very successful year.  Membership numbers are increasing, we are doing well financially and when appointing Board Directors, found there were more interested members than available positions – all signs of a healthy, vibrant organization.  STAC became the strong organization it is today thanks to those who held this position before me, including my immediate predecessor, Georgia Brooks, who was a strong leader that furthered the sense of community and inclusion in the organization.

Thanks also go to the Board of Directors and Advisors, both current and past, who volunteer their time to ensure STAC’s programs and activities remain relevant and valuable.  Our sponsors provide funding and resources that allow us to produce those programs – and thanks to their support STAC is able to offer most programs at no cost to members. But most of all thanks go to each and every member of STAC.  Whether your support comes from participating at a leadership level, volunteering to help with a project, attending an event or seminar, or simply paying your dues each year, STAC would not exist if security traders didn’t see value in investing time, money and talent for the good of the trading community.

This year, the STAC Board intends to build on the solid foundation already in place and ensure that we evolve with the industry.  To that end, please be vocal with your wants and needs as they pertain to your firms and careers.  Share your suggestions, opinions and observations about where the industry is headed.  Your feedback is the single most valuable tool this organization has to keep its legacy strong.  Call Sheila at the STAC office at 312.750.1200 or info@stachicago.org.  You can also reach me at Tmartin@wolve.com.
