The STAC membership year runs from March 1 - February 28. All memberships are up for renewal on March 1 of each year regardless of join date. Dues paid by credit card will auto renew on March 1 of each year, unless cancelled by the member.
Standard (Active) Membership Qualifications - Dues $325 to join | $250 to renew.
Any person shall be eligible for Standard Membership in the Organization who is employed by a broker, dealer, financial institution, exchange or other trading related business (subject to Board approval) located in the Chicagoland investment community and is employed in some capacity that directly supports the trading of securities, and who has served in such capacity for a period of not less than one year (however, the one year requirement may be waived at the discretion of the Membership Committee.) A membership shall become void at the end of the fiscal year during which the member ceases to be active in the securities business in the Chicagoland investment community except as explained in Section Four, or with approval from the Membership Committee.
All membership applications must be signed by the applicant and two sponsors and are approved at each Board meeting (held the second Tuesday of each month.) A sponsor must be a STAC member in good standing. When applying online for membership, simply enter the name and contact information of your sponsors and the STAC office will follow up with them.
Student Membership Qualifications
Student Membership in the Organization shall be by election by the Board of Directors. Any person who is a full-time upperclassman undergraduate or a full time graduate student is eligible to apply. Undergraduate students will not have any dues assessed but will be required to provide at least 6 hours of volunteer service at STAC events or any other community service projects approved by the STAC Board. Graduate students who are not working full time will pay a reduced dues rate of $100 per year. Student members will have limited membership rights and privileges. It is a non-voting position and they will only be eligible to attend certain events to be decided by the Board of Directors on a case-by-case basis.
