The Director of Managed Accounts/New Business Representative for Harris Investment Management, Inc. is accountable to market and sell equity, fixed income and cash management services through retail separate account channels.

Accountabilities:
Business Development
-Develops new clients and new fee revenue by selling Harris Investment Management’s investment products within the retail separate account/managed account marketplace
-Identifies and cultivates prospects and/or clients
-Initiates and follows up on new business opportunities
-Leads new business meetings
-Enhance Harris Investment Management’s profile in the marketplace by drawing upon an extensive personal network of contacts to attract new clients
-Ongoing development of Harris Investment Management product knowledge, sales skills and sales/relationship management techniques
-Attend industry conferences to increase knowledge and develop relationships with prospects and clients
-Works with Marketing to create, develop customize materials to ensure that Harris Investment Management is effectively represented 
-Establish strong working relationships with partners within Harris Investment Management (Analytics, Portfolio Management) to ensure investment and sales objectives are always in line
-Increase retail separate account revenue by $1,000,000/year (annual run rate)

-Bachelor degree required -- MBA or CFA preferable
-10 years of investment industry experience required
-2-4 years of successful direct sales experience, preferably in a financial services or retail separate account related position
-Extensive contacts in the retail separate account marketplace
-Familiarity with retail separate account marketing
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Ability to work independently
-Proven ability to close a sale

Responsibilities include trading all U.S. and International equities for institutional accounts, mutual funds, and Wrap accounts. Vehicles traded will be common stock and futures.  Candidate must develop trading strategies that encompass large blocks and program trading. This includes the preparation of liquidity and transaction cost analyses.  Must also monitor and allocate brokerage commissions and prepare reports for same to accommodate soft dollar research budget.  Trader is expected to proactively communicate with portfolio managers regarding order status and market conditions.  Must monitor and ensure full compliance with trading policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Successful candidate should have a minimum of five years experience as an equity trader, preferably buy-side.  A thorough understanding of equity markets, electronic communications networks, and trading strategies is essential. Candidate must have excellent organizational skills, familiarity with trading systems and algorithmic functionality. The ability to multi-task in a high pressure environment as well as interact with trading staff and Brokers is essential.  Bachelor’s Degree, preferred in finance, is required.  Advance degree, MBA and/or CFA certification is a plus.
