2003-2004 STAC Fund Scholarship Recipients (Northern Illinois University, School of Business)
The STAC Foundation is pleased to present its
2003-2004 Scholarship Winners. This year's College of Business students were selected
to receive scholarships to Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.
Larry
Jackson is a senior finance major attending Northern Illinois University. Larry
has an active life outside of NIU, as well as maintaining a 3.76 GPA. Larry is
a level 1 CFA candidate, and plans to pursue a career in investments. Working
part-time with Hispanics at a local grocery store for the past five years, Larry
has learned to speak Spanish fluently. Larry is also a sports enthusiast who enjoys
taking vacations and spending time with friends and family.
Diana
Rourke is freshman finance major at Northern Illinois University. Throughout her
high school career at Joliet Catholic Academy, Diana worked hard to maintain a
4.21 GPA while managing to be very involved with the school and community. She
was president of the video and photography club for two years and produced the
two-hour video of memories for her graduating class. Diana was also a member of
student council, recruitment corps, varsity club, Spanish Club, and campus ministry
where she was a Eucharistic Minister, assisted in setting up school masses, and
helped with the Meals on Wheels program. However, Diana spent a majority of her
time dancing. A 3 year member of the varsity dance team for which she was named
MVP, and a 3 time Universal Dance Association all-star, Diana found her passion
to be dance. She was also a student at Midwest Performing Arts Center where she
took classes in hip-hop, jazz, ballet and lyrical. Here at Northern, Diana has
become a member of the Siverettes Dance Team and is currently a prospective member
of Kappa Kappa Psi, the Co-Ed Honorary Music and Band Recognition Fraternity.
