The Security Traders Association of Chicago has made community service a priority and was recognized with the STA 2020 Big Heart Award for our philanthropic achievements. Below are some examples of how STAC members are giving back and how you can help.

The Night Ministry
STAC proudly supports The Night Ministry. With an open heart and an open mind, The Night Ministry provides housing, health care and human connection to members of the Chicago community who are struggling with poverty or homelessness. You can join STAC in supporting the Night Ministry by donating to them directly here.

Poker Power
In 2023 STAC partnered with Poker Power, an organization that teaches women+ how to play Texas Hold 'Em to compete and succeed in business, finance, and life in a fun, supportive, and safe-to-fail environment. Poker Power provided a complimentary 45-minute crash course during our annual Texas Hold 'Em Tournament on how to play poker to teach attendees valuable skills that can help flip the odds in their favor at the poker table or in the boardroom. charitable arm, the STAC Fund, hosts various fundraising activities throughout the year to fund our scholarships, community service activities and charitable grants.

Scholarships
STAC has established a charitable fund to encourage financial awareness and provide scholarship opportunities for deserving students that meet the eligibility requirements determined by the STAC Fund Board. The opportunity is promoted to colleges and universities across the state and through various non-profit organizations such as After School Matters. STAC members, their spouses and/or their dependent children are eligible, but relationship to a STAC member is not required to apply.

Midwinter Meeting
STAC hosts this highly anticipated conference for professionals in the securities industry. Over 500+ professionals from across the country attend the event each January for networking, continued education and professional development.

STAC Fund Face-Off
This hockey tournament held at Johnny's Ice House is a great way to have fun and support STAC's charitable endeavors. Spectator tickets are available if you're not a hockey player.

STAC Classic Golf Outing
Over 120+ golfers and spectators gather for a day out on the greens at Ridgemoor Country Club.

Texas Hold ’Em Tournament
Our marquee fundraising event in the Fall draws 200+ players and spectators for a night of high stakes poker action, Vegas style casino games, amazing food and hospitality and much more.
