A Full House of Memories: 10 Years of STAC’s Texas Hold 'Em Tournament By James Bohrer, STAC Board of Directors Member and Director of Business Development at Abacus GroupThe 10th Anniversary STAC Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament capped off a decade of generosity and Vegas-style thrills for the Security Traders Association of Chicago. What began with about 40 people in a meeting room at the Holiday Inn has grown to become the marquee fundraising event for the STAC Fund. Thanks to the amazing support of our sponsors and members, the proceeds from this event have allowed us to increase our philanthropic efforts tenfold and support more Chicagoland students that want to better themselves in their next educational endeavor.
We enjoyed a full night of hospitality, networking and cards flying as our community came together to give back and enjoy a great evening together in support of such a worthwhile cause. We were so grateful to have Poker Power join us this year, a likeminded organization that teaches women+ how to play Texas Hold ‘Em to compete and succeed in business, finance and life in a fun, supportive, and safe-to-fail environment. Everyone from novice to seasoned players received a complimentary crash course on how to play poker, learning valuable skills to help flip the odds in their favor at the poker table or in the boardroom!

Our community makes it all possible Our ability to raise proceeds for the STAC Fund would not be possible without our generous sponsors and members. This year we raised close to $40,000, and we are thrilled at the number of college scholarships that will allow us to provide to deserving local students.
