Encouraged by mentor, friend and former STAC President Steve Roy, Danielle joined STAC after years of attending its conferences, quickly embracing the organization’s unique blend of networking, professional development and philanthropy. With a strong focus on integrity, a passion for embracing change, and a natural talent for building genuine relationships, Danielle has thrived in her career and continues to lead by example. Known for her warmth and wisdom, she often encourages other STAC members — especially those just starting out in the industry — to be fearless, resilient, and open to learning.

Many members may not know that Danielle is originally from Casablanca, Morocco, which undoubtedly contributes to her rich perspective, relentless curiosity and authentic superpower: a natural talent for building lasting relationships.

Why did you join STAC?
I’ve been a part of the securities industry for many years and attended several STAC conferences over the years. Steve Roy then suggested I become a full member – and I’m so glad he did.

What professional skillset has helped you succeed in your career?
Many different attributes and skillsets go into helping one succeed. For me I believe the most important ones are maintaining a good reputation, always networking, and embracing change.

What would you tell your younger self just starting your career?
Don’t take no for an answer, don't be intimidated by titles, and remember – even when things go wrong - "this too shall pass."

Can you share an example of a STAC member who has served as a mentor to you and played a significant role in your professional development?
I think all the STAC members can be considered my mentors so it’s difficult to choose one. That said, I had really gotten into the sales/equity side of the indsutry from Steve Roy, former STAC President. He hired me at GVR and he's been such a great example of someone who is honest, well respected and loved as well as someone with incredible integrity. I also consider him one of my closest friends.

How has STAC increased the value you bring to your organization?
STAC has allowed me to connect with more colleagues at my company and engage with them around STAC activities, initiatives and events. Simultaneously, it gives me a wonderful opportunity to represent the great work and progress that my company is making in the industry.

Why are the educational and networking opportunities STAC offers so critical to someone starting out in/looking to advance their career?
This industry moves so fast that it’s critical for young professionals to stay plugged in and continuously develop their knowledge and networks. The educational and connection opportunities that are a part of STAC are endless. STAC members come from many of the most distinguished financial institutions, exchanges and more in our industry, and the networking opportunities are exponential.

What is your favorite STAC event and why?
I enjoy so many of the STAC events, but I think Mid-Winter Meeting may be at the top for the sole reason that it brings so many people to town from across the country that we may not see as often. It's a unique opportunity to learn, connect and network.

Who is someone at STAC that you’d recommend new members network with and why?
I would suggest any new member engage with some of our veteran members like Patty Schuler, Ted Bilharz, or Ginny Kowalczyk – AND some of our newer STAC leaders like Lauren Arbid, Hannah Droessler and Jason Schwab.

Why is the STAC Fund so important to you?
I love the STAC Fund because it was created to provide local Chicagoland students in need the funds to help fulfill their dreams and show them the positives that the financial industry provides.

What is your superpower?
I feel that I have a natural ability to connect with people that has helped me connect to prospective clients and enhanced my relationships with them. And luckily for me, most have become good friends.

What’s something other members don’t know about you?
Other members may not know that English was my second language and that I was born in Casablanca, Morocco.
